To my 20 year old self

To my 20 year old self

(Long post, no photos, grab a coffee)

Dear 20 year old me,

Hi, its 19 year old you here (just turned as well). I hope you are making me proud! Here's just a little list of things I hope you've changed in the last year.

I really hope you've got yourself a better job, if you didn't leave the cafe in summer 2014 I'll be disappointed! Why you even went back the second year I'll never know. If you've not done that, the chances are you've not done anything else I'm going to write, so you might as well stop reading now. Maybe you've gone back to college? Haha, unlikely but you might be different! As long as your job is full time, I'm happy.

One thing I'm currently struggling with is friends. I really hope you've found some new ones that aren't as crap as some of the ones I've got at the moment. Not all my friends may I add, if any of them read this (which I know they do ;) hi guys!) But anyway, remember your 19th birthday? I hope your new better friends are better for your 20th.
My current situation is that I want to move away from the island (for anyone who's reading this, yes I live on an island and no its not as fancy as it sounds), I currently want to move up with our beautiful best friend Elbow (Ellie to normal people). I expect you're probably thinking that was a stupid idea but you never know I might like it up there. If you've not moved up there I hope you go up regularly! At the end of the day you two have so much in common. The same with Hannah-Mae - she's just asked to go and see her, so I hope you have! A few times.

This year you've got to get driving! I really hope you passed your test first time and hopefully even got your car running. If you have, I do hope you aren't taxiing anyone around!!

I recently started a new hobby and I bloody hope you've carried that one otherwise I wasted over £200 on nothing. And currently its great - progressing well and the people are so nice! What's it like now?

One thing I really hope has changed are the boys you hang around with - we all know they're getting me no where (apart from Jameson). As for the ones that're hanging around like a bad smell (we both know who that is) I hope he's gone for good! I'm working on it now so I hope it changes.

The last thing I hope has changed is your foul language, its not as bad as a chav or anything but I've started swearing so much and I don't even realise, I'm working on it but I hope swearing is down to a minimum in your life now.

So yeah that's it! Hopefully 1 year on I'll be different. If any of you are going to or have wrote a letter to your future/past self send me the link as I would love to read it. I may also write a letter to my former self soon too, so let me know if you want to see that.

Thanks for reading! :)

Books I want to read this summer

Books I want to read this summer

I love having down time with a good book, as I'm sure loads of you do right? Whether it takes me a week or 2 months to read a book, I love having it being able to read now and again. I seem to go through stages where I read loads and then I'll only read once a week if that, I hope that's normal! haha. Anyway, that's why I'm writing this post, so that I've said which books I'm going to read and hopefully I'll do it!

The main books I hope to read before the British summer time ends (if it even starts) are:
  •  The Fault in Our Stars by John Green. I understand I'm really behind on this hype but I feel like I should read this before the film comes out, I really hope its as good as everyone makes out!
  • The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. I've read these before but it was way over a year ago and I love it so much! I've only seen the first film and was so disappointed, the books are way better. (apologies for the cup mark on the book in the photo, its an old book haha.)
  • Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn. When I was on Amazon buying The Fault in Our Stars, I had a little look at the books out at the moment and it came up with this one, I thought it sounded really interesting so I brought it. Since then I've seen a lot of people are reading it and there's going to be a film out soon, so I have high expectations for this book.
  • If I finish all that before the summer I am hoping to read the Harry Potter books as its something I've never read and I've always wanted to. Before that though I need to get hold of the books without paying crazy prices because I know I'm probably only going to read them once.
So yeah, this was just a quick post but I plan to do a review on each book once I've read them - apart from the Hunger Games probably because I've already read it. If you've read any of these, let me know what your reviews are.

Thanks for reading! :)

Everyday Makeup Routine

Everyday Makeup Routine

First things first, I am rubbish at doing make up and cannot do all the nice styles and complex ways most girls can do. I'm also exceptionally lazy when it come to applying make up. But I am very lucky that I don't have to look after my skin very much or have to wear foundation very often. If any make up professionals read this they will probably be appalled at how I do it haha.

Anyway, the first thing I do is put on BB cream on (depending if I need it). The BB cream I am currently using is the Maybelline Dream Fresh BB cream in the shade light.

It's really good for making your face glow and look alive. Then I use concealer because I always look tired no matter how much sleep I get. I actually use 2; 1 for cover ups on my face and under my eyes, then I use a slightly lighter one for the corners of my eyes which I find brightens up the area around my eyes. The 2 products I use are the Rimmel London Wake Me Up, for general concealer and the Rimmel London Match Perfection in the shade 010 to brighten up my eyes.

I was going to insert a photo of what I looked like at this stage but me being the idiot I am, accidentally had the wrong setting on the camera so it looks ridiculously airbrushed.

After this I put on bronzer, mine is just like a normal bronzer in a round pot, although I have no idea where its from and I've had it ages because its huge - haha I'm so helpful! Then I sometimes colour in my eyebrows with the No7 Beautiful Brows pencil, in shade 050. I know this isn't the best one out there but its cheap and works well enough. Then I put on eye shadow which is a peach colour which you can get by most make up brands.

I then do a thin line of liquid eyeliner on my top eyelid (like everyone does at the moment). I wrote a blog post about the eyeliner I used, click here to have a read. Then I just applied mascara, I am currently using the Maybelline Great Lash in the colour Blackest Black.

Day to day I don't usually put anything on my lips so this is my finished look - very basic but for lazy people! Hahaa.

Meet Abbie

Meet Abbie

I thought I would just do a simple post about me, telling you all the simple facts that you probably wouldn't know. I'd love you to copy/make up questions and make your own Meet (your name) and send me the link on twitter @AbbieeWade

1. Full name?
Abigail ??? Wade

2. Birthday?
10th May (that's right, not long ago)

3. Height?
5 foot 10 (all legs, I know)

4. Hobbies?
Horses and I will reveal the other one in a post soon!

5. Any pets?
I have a rabbit called Peter, its a girl but when I named her thinking it was a boy, until she had babies! I've also got 5 ponies, if they count as pets? I will write a post about them at some point.

6. What career you want?
This is something I can never say for certain, but I would love to go into events management or music management, but unfortunately I messed up sixth form so am currently rethinking.

You can ask me anonymously on my Tumblr:
      http://abbit.tumblr.com/ask

8. Where are you from?
South of England.

I always wanted to be like Lord Alan Sugar, yeah I was a very serious child.

12. Current job?
Currently a waitress and chef and a little cafe by my house, little bit rubbish but its better than no job right? And the view from work really isn't that bad!

13. Favourite magazine?
Definitely, Company. I find it's amazing for bloggers.

14. Any weird food obsessions?
I love putting grated cheese on everything! Has to be grated though, sliced cheese is not as nice.

15. Favourite Instagram account?
Magsy24 aka Hannah Maggs. She makes YouTube videos and I absolutely love seeing the photos of her and her little family. More on YouTubers in a future post. :)

Thanks for reading! :)

What's on my tablet?

What's on my tablet?

I've got the samsung galaxy tab 3, nothing special and I don't really use it that much. I way prefer apple but it does the job and it was very affordable. I've got mine in red, not sure why but it's really dark so doesn't bother me.
Jack Wills background of course! It's definitely my favourite brand - sad to have it as a background, I know.

I don't really have that many apps as I usually just use my tablet to watch YouTube videos or catch up on tv programs.
Right, anyway top left is catch phrase like the TV show were you have to identify the catchphrase from animated clips and then you win money. The game version of that apart from you don't win anything - love it. Available on the Play Store and the App Store.

Then below that there's temple run 2 (we all know what that is), below that 8 ball pool (bringing out the manly side of me).
Below that Paperama, my favourite game at the moment, where you have to get a piece of paper into a certain shape. Sounds boring but its not, give it a go!
I could only find this on the Play Store, sorry iPhone users. :(

Below that there's flappy bird (most frustrating game ever) then Hay Day, a bit like FarmVille I guess - haven't played it in ages mind.

Right, next column: Gmail, a TV guide (British) then a folder called Social, containing apps such as, twitter, Facebook, tumblr and Vine. Below that, a folder every girl needs, Shopping.
I don't have many on there at the moment because I always use my laptop. Below that is a folder containing all the TV catch up apps, well British ones anyway.

Then under that is yet another folder called kids, full of children's games because my 2 year old niece and 4 year old nephew tend to help themselves to my tablet when they come over.

Then just to the right of that is my horoscope app - everyone has it right?!

The bottom row is just the more important stuff, email, chrome, YouTube and the Play Store.

I don't ever use the camera so I don't actually have an photos or videos on here, if you've got one you'll know the camera is really bad!

Anyway, hope you enjoyed this extra long and probably boring post. Let me know if you think I should do a What's on your iPhone post too. Also I would love to know what's on your tablet/ipad/phone/laptop because I'm nosey and want to find more fun apps.

Thanks for reading! :)

Motivation Monday

Motivation Monday

I feel like I've been giving up on a lot of my goals recently because I think they're too big and I'll never achieve them. I came across this photo and it made me realise never to give up on anything, as a lot of people have or are in the same situation and have achieved.

Never quitting is the start to achieving your goals, no matter how big or small they are. The way I see it is as long as you are constantly working towards your goals (even little steps) you are still achieving more than the people who can't be bothered. So what if you have a bad couple of days or weeks and you don't progress much or if people are doing it faster than you! All the people named in the photo weren't perfect and got knock backs but the main thing is they never gave up. Look where they are now, I want to be like that.

I would love to hear about anything that motivates you, there's nothing better than being motivated.

Send me a tweet @AbbieeWade

Listen to | YOUNG KATO

Listen to | YOUNG KATO

This band deserves so much more recognition that it has! Formed in 2011, I first saw them when they supported Spector at Gloucester Guidhall back in 2012 and since then I have been in love. They have come on so much - supporting You Me at Six and having their first headline tour. Yesterday they also announced they are supporting AWOLNATION. You may recognise them from the British show Made in Chelsea, where their music is regularly played and there's also been a Young Kato gig shown in series 5.

Their sound is very indie but having 6 members in the band is going to make it unique right?! 1 on vocals, 2 on guitar, 1 on bass, 1 on keyboard and 1 on drums. Sounds crazy doesn't it? How about you take a listen to their latest release 'Help Yourself' and tell me what you think.

Motivation Monday

Motivation Monday

Today's motivation is similar to last week, I know everyone has things that they want to do or try but they don't because they aren't very good or don't have the confidence - me included in this. There's stuff that I've recently started and one day I hope to be good!

I guess really this post is more for me, I mean I have a personal reason behind this - but let me know if this is relevant to any of you.

Apologies I have no idea where I got this photo from, I follow loads of motivation pages haha.

What motivates you? And have you got an photos or quotes that you find motivation?

Thanks for reading! :)
