Growing up and losing friends

Growing up and losing friends

"Why should I care about others when they don't care about me?" Often something I say to myself when I get let down. So many times I find myself running after people when they've called me for help, they upset or angry about something. Every time I'm there giving hours of my time to someone who needs a shoulder to cry on. I will text my friends and ask 'how are you?' Only to be bombarded with everything going on in their life, which is great and I want to know everything that happens, but after that the conversation will end and I have very few friends who will actually ask how I am and see what's going on in my life.

Over the past year this has made me realise, I do not need this people in my life. I only want people who can support me and will benefit me, maybe this is selfish? But after all it is my life so why can't I be the centre of it?

A few months ago I decided enough was enough and it was time to let those people go. So if you are planning on binning the crap friends here are a few reassuring words.

It doesn't make you a bad person because you don't want to hang out with someone anymore.

You weren't born to live your life wasting hours on one sided friends.

There are people out there who actually care about you, spend more time with them!

To find those one sided friends, ask them how they are and see if 1, they ask you the same, and 2, if they actually listen to your answer.

Good luck xo

Jar of Motivation | DIY

Jar of Motivation | DIY

Here's a quick DIY motivation jar or bucket idea.
I made mine about 4/5 years ago and because I'm not in the slightest bit creative I thought it would be funny to put motivation in a Maltesers jar. Obviously I recommend using a nice jar or tin so that it looks cute. It's super easy and quick to make too!

First find a jar, tin or bucket. Size depends on how much you want to put in it.

Then find all your favourite motivational quotes and print them or write them on pieces of paper.
Cut them out and fold them up.

Simply put them all in the jar and then you can pull them out randomly.

I like having a lid on mine so that I can shake it about and each bit of motivation is picked at random.

That's all there is to it! Maybe I'm the only one who finds things like this helpful, who knows.
Let me know if you've got anything similar?

5 things I want to do this summer | 2015

5 things I want to do this summer | 2015

(Throwback to last summer with the most amazing person. She has a blog too! Go here)

So I've decided as a way of motivating myself, I'm going to declare the things I want to have achieved by the end of the summer to the world. Why not join in and lets all try and make summer 2015 one to remember. (Apologies if it isn't summer where you are - although you don't need a season to get motivated). Here's what I'm going to try and do:

1 - Kick fitness' ass and get healthier
I know this is probably a typical one but I've been on and off with getting fit and now is the time that I really need to do something regularly and what a better hobby than one that is good for you! Also I think I have about 5 glasses of coke a week, I eat McDonald's like its going out of fashion and I know that these are no good for me in the long run. So by the end of summer I will have nailed this, easily. Maybe...

2 - Change my hairstyle
I feel like its time to change my appearance a little, nothing permanent because I change my mind way too much for anything like that. I have decided its time to change my hairstyle because I've had the same style for a while. At the moment all I'm thinking of dying it differently, I'm not sure if am ready to cut it all off just yet but I am getting very tempted.

3 - Get my passport sorted
I keep on forgetting or getting distracted with other things so my passport keeps getting pushed back, I need to at least have the opportunity to go and see the world whenever I want. Going on holiday would be great but I feel like this year is the year for festivals. But yeah, someone pester me to sort it please.

4 - Save money
I know this is going to be super hard, especially because I just love to shop, but I need to have some savings at least. I would quite like to move out of my parents house soon but obviously that all depends on my job situation at the end of the summer. I guess I just want to look in the bank and be able to see what I have earnt. I'm a shopaholic I know!

5  - Never turn down an opportunity
This soounds a bit silly but I have always turned down things because I can't be bothered or because I would rather do something I know - this has to stop. I need to say yes to more things and just try more, all the best memories I have are from me trying new things, I need to do more of this. Start living young, free and getting the most out of life.

That's all from me, I might write a post at the end of the summer to reflect back on this post and see if I've achieved all my goals. I want this summer to be the year that I change my life for the better. I know, I cringed at that too.

Thanks for coming back and supporting me!

Motivation Monday

Motivation Monday

I feel like I've been giving up on a lot of my goals recently because I think they're too big and I'll never achieve them. I came across this photo and it made me realise never to give up on anything, as a lot of people have or are in the same situation and have achieved.

Never quitting is the start to achieving your goals, no matter how big or small they are. The way I see it is as long as you are constantly working towards your goals (even little steps) you are still achieving more than the people who can't be bothered. So what if you have a bad couple of days or weeks and you don't progress much or if people are doing it faster than you! All the people named in the photo weren't perfect and got knock backs but the main thing is they never gave up. Look where they are now, I want to be like that.

I would love to hear about anything that motivates you, there's nothing better than being motivated.

Motivation Monday

Today's motivation is similar to last week, I know everyone has things that they want to do or try but they don't because they aren't very good or don't have the confidence - me included in this. There's stuff that I've recently started and one day I hope to be good!

I guess really this post is more for me, I mean I have a personal reason behind this - but let me know if this is relevant to any of you.

Apologies I have no idea where I got this photo from, I follow loads of motivation pages haha.

What motivates you? And have you got an photos or quotes that you find motivation?

Thanks for reading! :)

Motivation Monday

This is for anyone who is currently struggling to achieve their goals, maybe because you "can't be bothered", "don't really have time" or "don't really feel up to it". Personally I find it really motivational when I come across pictures like this and it just reminds me that I need to carry on. So many people make excuses about all sorts of things, for no real reason but for me I find it so rewarding once I've pushed through that excuse. I challenge everyone reading this to do something they are currently too lazy or unmotivated to do and I promise you once you've done it you will feel so much better about yourself! Even if its just 1 or 2 steps closer to your goal, every little bit helps right?

Its a bit like the tortoise and the hare story, about the hare challenging the tortoise to a race - knowing full well he is much faster. In the end "slow and steady wins the race", it's a bit like this with achieving your goals, take it slow and before you know it you'll have achieved more than everyone else!

Anyway, enough of that! Thanks for reading, and be sure to let me know what your goals are!

Motivation Monday

This weeks motivation is more of a reminder to me. This is for everyone in a troubled situation or for people who are involved with negative people. For me I have a lot of negative people in my life and people who constantly try to bring me down. Usually it is because they want to have one up, this has gotten so much now I just can't be bothered with it any more. I'm putting this image on my blog as a way of promising myself next time the negative people get in contact with me I need to say no.

I will live in regret when I'm old if I don't continue to grow and I hope that anyone reading this will do the same and move on too! Let me know if you're in a similar situation. Twitter - @AbbieeWade

Motivation Monday

As of today I have decided I am going to do a Motivation/inspiration post every Monday, today I would like to share this photo. I think it is so powerful and reminds me that you have to work hard to get rewards, the image behind really enhances the point and that's why its probably one of my favourite pictures.
